The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida's (USAO-SDFL) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.

Duties

This Investigator conducts investigations relating to victim crimes and to participate in investigative activities with Federal, State, and local officials. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Investigator support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, Florida, focusing in the areas of investigations and financial examinations. Typical work assignments will include: Conducting routine investigations and financial examinations based on cases or broad legal issues assigned to one or more Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs). Preparing interim and final reports on the progress of investigations for use by AUSAs and supervisory attorneys. Performing a variety of ancillary investigation related services in direct support of litigation.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below: Conducting routine investigations and/or financial examinations; Preparing reports on progress of investigations for use by attorney's; AND Obtaining information to analyze evidence by examining records and data, by observation, and by interviewing individuals. OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related; or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level. Your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
