About the Position: This position is located at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Director of Clinical Support, Clinical Nutrition with the Defense Health Agency, Camp Pendleton, California.
Duties
Assist Handicapped dining room customers with meal selection and transport.
Disposes of waste in accordance with established safety and sanitation procedure.
Serves as working leader of 5 employees in accomplishing work.
Passes on to other workers instructions received from supervisor and starts work by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led.
Ensures that all recipes, supplies, utensils, and Food items are available, and needed stock is obtained from supply locations and all received items are properly accounted for in accordance with internal control procedures.
Works along with other workers, setting the pace performing a variety of maintenance and cleaning duties in the dish room, pot and pan, server areas.
Manually or using mechanical equipment, washes heavy pots and pans, dishes, trays and service ware from the kitchen, dining room, catering functions and care units.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45?lbs.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position requires the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.

To meet the screen out element applicants should document experience in a food service environment, performing lead duties that require proficiency in passing on to other workers instructions received from supervisor and assigning tasks to individual members. Ensuring compliance with instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines. Checking work in progress and finished work for compliance. Answering questions from workers regarding procedures, policies and instructions. Assure that safety, sanitation, and housekeeping rules are being followed. Physical Requirements: Work involves moderate physical effort. Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require the employee to continuously stand, walk, stoop, bend, push, pull, and reach. Must frequently lift and carry supplies, materials, or equipment weighing up to 45 pounds with or without assistance.
Working Conditions: Work is performed predominantly in kitchen and dining areas. Areas are often uncomfortably warm and noisy. Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used and slippery floors; exposed to dirt, grease, and water in cleaning tasks. Incumbent is subject to extremes in temperature of hot kitchens and walk-in refrigerators. Shift work may be required by the position.
