About the Position: The organizational goals are to provide quality health services to Warren AFB and create a positive impression of the Air Force Medical Service while maintaining readiness posture. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Plan special occupational health risk assessments including hazardous noise, ventilation, PPE equipment, and air sampling. Conduct drinking and recreational water sampling related surveys. Respond to emergency situations such as chemical spills and/or hazardous material exposures. Conduct thorough training for flight members on various aspects of Bioenvironmental Engineering equipment and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position may require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting health risk assessments, performing workplace monitoring and sampling with the use of a variety of sampling equipment, and responding to accidents such as chemical spills. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
