Serves as an Equal Opportunity Specialist in the Office of Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity (OCREO), Center for Compliance Management. Provides program expertise for SSA's Center for Compliance Management and all aspects of assigned programs, which includes compliance requirements for Equal Opportunity (EO) under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.
Duties
Serves as a liaison between the Center for Compliance Management and the EEOC and/or the DOJ on compliance matters.
Initiates compliance actions issued by the EEOC or DOJ. Monitors progress of actions and reviews information provided for completeness and sufficiency.
Analyzes, interprets, explains, and applies a body of law, regulations, and procedures that govern Title VI of the Civil Rights of 1964, as amended, which includes planning and conducting public civil rights complaint investigations,
(CONT) compliance reviews, proactive enforcement activities, and the provision of technical assistance in the form of information and related services to SSA recipients and other parties, regarding their civil rights responsibilities
(CONT) and rights per Department of Justice (DOJ) guidelines.
Attends meetings in SSA or other high-level organizations to explain the SSA EEO and/or EO programs. Serves on SSA-wide committees, task forces and workgroups as assigned.
Tracks and monitors all compliance functions and works with other components within SSA to manage to ensure EEO and/or EO compliance for the Agency.

Qualifications
GS-12 or above
To qualify for the GS-13, the applicant must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience should include : 1) providing guidance, oversight, and reporting the outcomes of conducted and assisted programs' compliance reviews (2) making civil rights compliance determinations and ensuring that all procedures are followed (3) providing service-wide advice, training and technical assistance to the programs that administer Financial Assistance to ensure equitable delivery and compliance with civil rights nondiscrimination laws and policies (4) Utilizing office automation systems and software for various office needs. (5.) Analyzing factual information, identify problems, report findings, and recommend corrective action.
