About the Position: This position will be in the Medical Logistics Department located at MacDill AFB.

Duties

Oversee facility management including personnel, service contracts, financial programs, space utilization, and information resources for the facility. Implement and evaluate programs to manage medical safety risks, fire safety risks, facility response to emergencies, and to manage risks associated with physical security, hazardous materials, and waste. Coordinate with base organizations, federal, state, and local officials to evaluate policies, procedures, and maintenance and repair activities to make changes necessary for improvement.

Requirements

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • This position may require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs; executing plans for facility projects; estimating funding requirements for facility projects; utilizing automated tools to generate work requests for facilities projects and programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities Operations and MaintenanceFacilities Reporting and Record-KeepingFacilities Requirements Analysis and Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
