About the Position: Perform direct and general support maintenance of a wide variety of operational aircraft avionics electronic systems, equipment, and related devices.
Duties
Inspect and test equipment to analyze and pinpoint maintenance problems of highly complex equipment systems such as communications (VHF/AM and FM and UHF/AM), navigation (VHF/FM, homing, VOR, ADF), and automatic flight control system.
Use complex test equipment such as dual-trace oscilloscope test panels, pulse generators, frequency meters, multimeters and various radio and radar test sets to make circuit analyses, interpretation and analysis of waveforms and patterns.
Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment; and align or synchronize them into systems ensuring that all integral devices are functioning properly.
Complete full scope of Night Vision device major and minor component and Field and Sustainment servicing and repairs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Pre-employment physical and annual physicals while in position.
- Pre-employment and random drug testing while in this position. Required to sign DA Form 5019-R.
- May be required to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and /or On-Call duty hours.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently lifts and carries, unassisted, items weighing up to 40 pounds. Sometimes required to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may also be required. Some work may require the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loops, and microscopes to accomplish repairs on miniature components.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed inside. May work in aircraft and outside where exposed to all types of weather. Periodically required to ride in rotary wing aircraft. Subject to cuts, bruises, scrapes, broken bones, and serious burns. Requires annual audiometric evaluation.
