The primary purpose of this position is to serve as information and referral assistant who provides program objectives and instructions. This position provides operation of the Information, Referral, and Follow-up Program, established to maintain and provide comprehensive information regarding installation and civilian community resources to soldiers and their families.
Duties
Serves as the Administrator of the Information and Referral (I&R) Program and the Warfighter and Family Readiness Center.
Establishes and maintains program files and is responsible for security of c1assified files and documents.
Arranges for large/small meetings or conferences.
Performs a variety of clerical and automation management tasks in support of a variety of program activities within the division.
Prepares a variety of correspondence.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, GS-0187 series.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, is qualifying for GS-5 level positions. General experience is work in a social services activity or other organization that required the ability to conduct interviews; to collect and analyze pertinent facts; to provide needed information, advice, and practical assistance; and to prepare clear concise personal histories and factual reports. Receives visitors and answers phone; handles non-technical inquiries from knowledge of program activities, procedures, and requirements. Develops, organizes, and maintains a comprehensive accurate and up-to-date resources library and database of the frequent and infrequent used telephone numbers. Ensure enough information to include maps, telephone books, resource books are on hand and available.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
I. Knowledge of military and civilian social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories.
2. Ability to conduct interviews necessary to discern the nature and extent of client concerns and determine appropriate referral service/options.
3. Ability to collect evaluate and disseminate information.
4. Skill in using various computer software database, spreadsheet, word processing and various support systems.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in, writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
