About the Position: This position is located at Kenner Army Health Clinic, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.

Duties

Evaluates and installs sophisticated/complex medical equipment and/or systems . Serve as an adviser for special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems. Ensure that cabling such as fiber optics, cat 5, Ethernets, etc., and hardware such as switches, hubs and converters are in place and are functioning and capable of interfacing with said hardware (modalities). Inspects new patient care equipment (PCE) to include receipt, inventory of parts, accessories, assembly, inspection, calibration, performance verification, and part replacement. Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services (PM) inspections of medical PCE to include visual inspections, operational checks, electrical safety inspections, calibration, and verification performance.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must possess a valid civilian/military driver's license and may be required to obtain a military/commercial driver's license for heavy or special purpose vehicles.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 60 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• Use of protective/safety clothing/equipment is required.
• May be required to work outside normal duty hours; subject to call back.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
