This position is located within the Clinical Support Service at the Kansas City Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. In this position, you will serve as the personal and confidential Administrative Assistant to the Chief, Clinical Support Service (CSS), and provide all practical and technical aspects of office administration to include direction and guidance to the CSS Staff.
Duties

Major Duties:
Performs all program assistance and secretarial duties for the Chief, Clinical Support Service
Responds to inquiries and administrative problems
Serves as a buffer and acts as liaison between the Chief, CSS and other offices and staff personnel
Provides the Chief, CSS and section supervisors with the data extracted from Veterans and various data banks, and correlate data as it affects program objectives and projects.
Serve as the Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) for the CSS office.
Serve as the privileging coordinator for CSS, answering questions and coordinating the flow of paperwork.
Prepares agendas for and conducts periodic training sessions for all administrative and clerical program staff in CSS
Maintains calendar for the Chief, CSS, and makes appointments and commitments without prior approval.
Receives and reviews all correspondence.
Takes minutes at meetings,
Serve as a timekeeper for CSS and advises other timekeepers on policies and requirements.
Establish and maintains files
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Qualifications
THERE IS A TYPING PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT

EXPERIENCE: Possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Secretary (Office Automation), GS-6 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position? Specialized experience includes receiving telephone calls to the office; scheduling appointments; coordinating meetings and conferences; preparing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication; preparing travel arrangements; utilizing office automation software and maintaining files. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit.
