This position is located in is located in Geriatrics and Extended Care where the incumbent provides administrative and clerical support to the Nurse Executive and Medical Director for Geriatrics and Extended Care. The incumbent is responsible for organization and coordination of service office activities, and provides clerical support to all service physicians.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Collecting data and drafting replies to general inquiries
- Gathering information for use in updating credentialing and privileging and maintaining up-to-date essential documentation
- Handling meeting arrangements and taking and preparing meeting minutes
-Typing a variety of documents utilizing proper formatting and forms
- Maintains files for the service- Answering phone calls and routing to the appropriate person to handle
- Using the timekeeping system to post information and ensuring proper documentation and authorization
- Making travel arrangements for staff
-Coordinating the collection, compilation, and submission of data
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM (Subject to change based on the needs of the agency)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/21/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Provides advise to professional staff and clerical positions on pertinent matters including but not limited to the application of various procedures and reporting requirements of the services and its sections.
Experience working independently on routine and non-routine responsibilities such as assimilating policies, summarizing information from files and comments in anticipation of the Chief's need.
Experience composing routine letters, referring telephone calls and visitors
Skilled in the operation of commonly used office equipment such as a personal computer, Xerox machine (copier and scanner) and fax machine
Experience performing timekeeping, basic bookkeeping and ordering supplies
Generate and provide daily reports to leadership for review (ex. Unit census)
Experience working with personnel regulations

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary; however, the ability to move around the office and building is needed. The ability to carry or move light items such as files to other offices is necessary.
