As a National Bank Examiner (Analyst to Associate Deputy Comptroller), NB-0570-6, you will act as an operational resource to the Associate Deputy Comptroller. Midsize and Community Bank Supervision (MCBS) RRED Chicago, IL is the preferred location but may be filled in an alternative location

Duties

As a National Bank Examiner (Analyst to Associate Deputy Comptroller), NB-0570-6, you will: Analyze supervision findings and other sources of information to identify areas of concern, determine methods of resolution, and recommend appropriate courses of action, focusing on the assigned portfolio of banks. Analyze banking industry, economic, and other financial data to identify potential systemic risks and assess the impact of systemic risks on the assigned portfolio and supervisory strategies for portfolio institutions. Participate as a member of risk management and operations committees to maintain perspective on the diversity of risk management processes and emerging risks, and other operational issues. Serve as liaison for the Associate DC to ensure open communication within MCBS and at all organizational levels, comment and coordinate input on proposals, and respond to inquiries and requests from Headquarters and field office staff and external groups on various MCBS topics. Lead, motivate, and mentor a staff of employees, considering the needs of the OCC and career development goals of individuals.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Analyzing financial data to identify systemic risk and assess the impact; OR Providing consulting services to management on bank supervisory issues and operational processes. AND Selective factor: You must also possess a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting that you are authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for national banks and federal savings associations. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
