You will serve as a ASSISTANT FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICE CHIEF for FIRE PREVENTION in the COMMANDER NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND of COMNAVREG SE JAX.

Duties

You will serve as Subject Matter Expert directing Region Fire Department on all issues related to fire code compliance, construction plan review, and public education at all activities under incumbent's jurisdiction. You will conduct investigation of fires to determine cause and reports findings to responsible command authority. You will prepare fire protection policies and promulgate directives governing fire protection matters with Region Southeast.   • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing a Fire & Emergency Services program 2) Providing assistance, advice, and recommendations concerning fire protection/prevention; planning, managing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating fire prevention programs; 3) Administering a fire and emergency services budget; and 4) Reviewing reports, records, codes, and procedures to make suggestions on improvements to firefighting techniques and /or polices. NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector III, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, and Airport Firefighter. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
