Duties
If selected for this position, you will be responsible for the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. Typical work assignments will include:
Administering information technology (IT) principles, methods, and security products to protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of information system resources.
Managing agency's network drives and ability of employees to access remotely.
Providing basic advice and guidance on a various IT issues, such as those involving technical or functional requirements, hardware or software configurations, interconnectivity, installation or implementation issues, and administrative matters.
Providing customers technical and administrative assistance, troubleshoot IT problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications
IT Basic Requirements:
You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess Information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
Attention to Detail - Monitoring network performance.
Customer Service - Assisting customers by trouble shooting IT problems;
Oral Communication - Communicating the importance of cybersecurity to stakeholders; and
Problem Solving - Assisting in identifying cybersecurity problem areas.
AND
Specialized Experience:
A. You must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Monitoring network systems for suspicious activity;
Analyzing program procedures to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies; and
Maintaining hardware and/or software inventory to advise management on upgrades or maintenance needed.
OR
B. Successful completion of a Doctorate or Ph.D., or equivalent degree, or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such at degree; at an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR
C. You have less than one year of specialized experience as described in A and less than 3 years of graduate level education as described in B that, when combined; equal 100% of the qualification requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of the master's level [generally 36 semester hours] may be used in this calculation.
