This position serves as the Lead Printing Services Assistant for the Supply Chain Management Services within the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) and supported catchment area.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Reviews and processes a wide variety of publications and blank forms including printing, binding and photographic reproductions and related material. Reviews printing specifications for a variety of publications and forms to include proper binding, size, and color, weight, and color of paper. Maintains records reflecting status of jobs, costs, suspense controls and automated programs to facilitate, enhance and report reproduction/printing operations. Distributes and balances the workload amongst employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of assigned workload. Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques. Gives on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Monitors working conditions. Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others to supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements: GS-06 Specialized Experience: Do you possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience, which equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes experience ensuring reproduction materials and mail are distributed to appropriate areas; reviewing and processing a wide variety of publications; reviewing printing specifications for a variety of publications and forms; providing guidance and technical direction to others to ensure work is accomplished. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceTechnology Application IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and handling large numbers of files daily. This may include picking up boxes weighing 20-25 pounds, and may require reaching, climbing, or bending to place this material on shelves.
