About the Position: Training Instructor/Writer designing, developing, and delivering instructions in sexual harassment/assault response and prevention (SHARP) for the Army SHARP Academy (ASA).

Duties

As a Training Instructor (Writer), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Work under the general supervision of the division chief while independently define, design, develop, and deliver SHARP instruction and may serve as course manager or senior instructor for one or more courses. Provide resident instruction in Army SHARP curriculum to groups of students who return to their commands and perform duties as Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC), Victim Advocates (VA), SHARP trainers, and SHARP program managers. Develop training products for programs of instruction, training support packages (TSP), lesson plans and required Training Requirements Analysis System (TRAS) documentation for all training and education products the SHARP Academy provides. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for resident and non-resident training learning options and instructional delivery modes, including distance learning and/or participates in planning and developing or evaluating and revising the curriculum. May lead small teams and/or supervise lower graded specialists in the conduct of training instruction and training development work, providing guidance for projects, participates in panel discussions. Analysis of training strategies as expressed in all SHARP training development plans and their relationship to ASA strategic planning to include responsibility for developing, planning, formulating, executing, reviewing, and evaluating. Must possess an extensive knowledge of the academy?s program objectives, and applicable regulations, guidelines, directives, principles, and practices to monitor, and maintain efficient and effective SHARP training programs. Review programs of instruction, training support material, and operating policies and procedures to ensure the standardized application of training strategies and performance standards while achieving training goals.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • 1. Position requires a minimum of a favorable suitability determination on a Secret Tier 3 background investigation.
  • Employees in these positions are required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
  • 2. Within 12 months of employment must clear all background checks against all records as required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy and regulations; and obtain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP).
  • IAW governing regulations, background checks will be conducted on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
  • 3. Within 12 months of employment must successfully complete all required Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training and the Army SHARP Academys Faculty Development requirements.
  • 4. Must be placed on appointment orders prior to submitting for D-SAACP certification.
  • 5. Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
  • 6. Employee may be given an EOD based on an interim clearance if granted.
