Duties

Duties include: Integrating support services functions into a cohesive operating unit; Approving the implementation of plans and procedures for the delivery and coordination of administrative services; Analyzing the various functions and evaluating alternative methods for accomplishment of the intended results; Acting as "Contracting Officer" (upon certification) with delegated authority on behalf of the United States Attorney's Office; Overseeing property and equipment inventories; Utilizing existing space to the optimum and plan for additional space, when needed; Recommending upgrade or replacement of telecommunications equipment, when necessary; Training and directing mailroom operations. Supervising two Contracting Specialists, an Administrative Specialist, an Administrative Technician and a Receptionist Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

GS-13 To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that involved analyzing technology in relation to support service needs; and, overseeing administrative support services in areas such as contracting, space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, property management and inventory, security, mail, records management, reproduction services, office automation and telecommunications hardware and software. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
