This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5907000 and is part of the FL JFHQ, National Guard.
Duties
As a Security Specialist, GS-0080-11, you will initiate and implement policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmental information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources; act as resident expert on all SCI security matters; function as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance; maintain currency on a variety of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to apply this knowledge to protect SCI facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction; establish policies and procedures for accomplishment of SCI protection and security; research, interpret, analyze and apply Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Army / Air Force Manuals, Army Regulations / Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of?Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements with the Special Security Office for the State.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard."

NOTES:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 1996) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
3. This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the unit is closed or delayed reporting and remain on duty during phased or early release.
4. May be required to work uncommon tours of duty on short notice.
5. May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
6. The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory.
7. May be required to wear special protective clothing such as coats, boots, vests, gas masks, and/or helmets and may be exposed to high levels of noise such as aircraft engines.
8. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 have at least one year experience at the GS-09 level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Experience which included completing and managing the day-to-day operational duties within the Special Security Office in support of all sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures. Experience in research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security. Experience in conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Experience implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources; experience which demonstrates knowledge as a technical specialist on sensitive compartmented information security matters, as well as other areas of classified security and classification guidance. Demonstrated competency on how to maintain currency on a variety of different security program inter-relationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to protect sensitive compartmented information facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction; experience in researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives, Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Air Force Manuals, Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
