About the Position: This Security Clerk (Office Automation) position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Provost Marshal.

Duties

Receive and record personal, telephone, and radio messages and instructions involving emergencies, complaints, violations, accidents, and requests for information and/or assistance. Convey messages for supervisor and other interoffice personnel. Perform administrative tasks to include but not limited to: file maintenance, security system data base maintenance, logging daily incident information into various security systems and general administrative housekeeping operation. Identify and coordinate the response to the medical center's access control system.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • The work may require the employee to work nights, weekends and holidays (including irregular or rotating shifts).
  • May be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty.
  • This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalCommunicationsPublic Safety and SecurityTechnology Application Advancement requirement to positions up to GS-05: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
