You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the COMMUNICATION STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS OFFICE of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Duties

You will conduct LOGCOM's communication strategy and operations program, planning, designing, and executing a program to inform and educate the general and specialized publics. You will be responsible for developing, drafting and writing strategic communication plans, talking points, command messages and leading various cross-functional and joint communications teams. You will research and develop talking points for senior leadership in preparation for media interviews and public delivery on the MARCOLOGCOM strategic themes and messages. You will serve as a charter member of the MARCOLOGCOM Command Operations Center (COC) and integral planning representative at MARCORLOGCOM HQ command meetings, briefings, staff meetings, and conferences. You will Develop command response to media queries by coordinating for accuracy with appropriate HQ, Subordinate commands, G-Codes, Staff offices, and program managers to ensure proper staffing and timeliness of response. You will plan and recommend hiring actions, including compiling and submitting request personnel actions. You will give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. You will hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
  • I am willing and able to accept a supervisory position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive public affairs program which involved public, internal and external information, media and community relations requiring a wide range of knowledge of communication requirements and techniques.
