About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.
Duties
Performs a variety of statistical assistant duties to include collecting, collating, tabulating and maintaining data used by the United States Military Academy.
Provides statistical support to a multi-disciplinary group by performing statistical based forecasts and depicting results of statistical calculations.
Inputs, changes, extracts, and stores data in applicable database or appropriate computer application.
Serves as lead integrator, data collector, and key holder for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
Prepares material in final form using automation software.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience (GS-07): One year of specialized experience which includes 1) applying statistical techniques and/or methods to assist in collecting, processing, compiling, computing, analyzing, editing, and/or presenting statistical data for an organization; and 2) using automated databases or computer systems such as SAS (Statistical Analysis System), SQL (structured query language), Qualtrics, and/or "R" (programming language) to input, extract, and/or store organizational data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
