You will serve as a Computer Scientist in the Information Technology (IT) Division, Corporate Operations Department of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Duties

You will provide Cloud architecture and engineering support to the entire NSWC Carderock Division. You will advise employees in the planning and execution of the transition of information technology systems to a cloud hosting environment. You will create, plan and design target cloud architectures. You will brief and interface with high-ranking military (through Flag Officer) and civilian (through Senior Executive Service) managers. You will provide expert-level advice and guidance in the development and implementation of projects, policies, and procedures. You will ensure the NSWC Carderock Enterprise Cloud Environment remains secure, reliable, and accessible to the NSWC Carderock population.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Systems Developer level Advanced within 6 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional scientist leading projects to execute the transition of computer systems to a cloud hosting environment to include Enterprise architecture, cybersecurity compliance, and portfolio management for an organization. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Bachelor's degree in computer science.

OR

Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Official or unofficial transcripts or a list of courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned issued from your school must be provided.
