Duties
You will assist D55 Energetics Department Heads in executing jobs within the facilities including maintaining vendor relations, obtaining quotes, purchasing material, monitoring delivery times, accuracy of orders, and providing vendor feedback.
You will perform searches for equipment utilizing Government sources, negotiate with vendors for best value, and identify vendors who are currently registered with the System for Award Management (SAM).
You will procure items ranging from small to large purchases utilizing the most effective means including purchase card, MILSTRIP, and Procurement Initiation Document Requests for contracts.
You will work with engineers to define contract requirements, monitor PID/PRs, and complete contract close-outs.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-04/05 grade level or DG-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Maintaining vendor relations, obtaining quotes, purchasing material, monitoring delivery times, and providing vendor feedback;
2) Utilizing a broad understanding of chemical and material classification and a capability to identify materials for electronic and mechanical assemblies; and
3) Performing searches for specialized supplies, equipment, and materials utilizing various sources and negotiating with vendors for best value and schedule.

Education
The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
4 years above high school
Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions except Reporting Stenographer, GS-5. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
