You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIV., REQUIREMENTS BRANCH of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will manage sustainment activities to keep facilities in good working order by establishing scheduled maintenance and repairs, developing plans for major repairs or replacement of components. You will Identify, classify, prioritize, and estimate maintenance and repair work. You will monitor work throughout the project life and ensure that records are maintained in the Single Platform Maximo software system. You will prepare briefings covering methods used in the development, collection and preparation of statistical data along with providing advisory services to managers and supervisors concerning findings. You will evaluate the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program and recommend program revisions.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing engineering principles, methods and techniques to identify, analyze and recommend appropriate solutions to facilities requirements; 2) Interpreting and analyzing schematics and blueprints to provide advice regarding facility designs and customer requirements; 3) Reviewing technical data to understand facility systems and operations; 4) Presenting recommendations and program requirements through briefings, reports and correspondence to foster understanding and acceptance of recommendations and objectives; 5) Using Maximo software to manage data and activities.
