About the Position: Serves as an Administrative Specialist for the Operations Support Division, working under the general direction of the Division Chief, who provides general guidance on task, purpose, intent, and priorities to complete tasks that support the day-to-day operations.
Position is located at the US Army Human Resources Command, The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), CAS/MORT Affairs Operations Division, Fort Knox, KY 40122.
Duties
Works independently on various projects using analytical and critical thinking processes to plan, develop, coordinate and execute a variety of tasks.
Works collaboratively across the organization to collect and analyze information to meet requirements for Division leadership.
Communicates information through visual means to include design, production, display, and dissemination of requested information and analysis.
Prepares and communicates fact sheets, information papers, memorandums, executive summaries, and presentations.
Research new and innovative tools, programs, systems, software services and trends to maintain the division?s currency and relevance with strategic messaging to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station (10%).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized experience is defined as at least one year at the GS09, grade level with knowledge of management principles and standardized administrative practices and procedures to conduct studies of directorates administrative work processes; analyzes, makes recommendations, and develops implementing guidelines to meet the goals, priorities, and commitments of the director as they relate to directorate messaging and social media requirements. Must be knowledgeable of the Army and HQ policies and views sufficient to enable the incumbent to handle office emergencies and establish practices or procedures to meet new situations. Skill in applying fact finding and investigative techniques. Skills in office automation and the various office software programs.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialize experience.
OR
Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration and/or Human Resources Management (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
