About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Fort Gillem is located in Forest Park, Georgia, on the southeast edge of Atlanta in Clayton County.
Duties
Manages the Personnel Security Program (PSP) in compliance with Department of Defense, Army, CIDC, and other applicable regulations.
Maintains liaison with the National Background Investigation Bureau (NBIB), Department of Defense Central Adjudication Facility, and Major Commands (MACOMs) in order to resolve personnel security matters;
Serves as Security Specialist and Special Security Officer (550) for the Security Programs in the Protection and Security section of the 52/53 of the Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC), U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division Command (USACIDC).
Responsible for managing the full range of security programs.
Serves as the authority and subject matter expert on the development, interpretation, and compliance of security programs, regulations, and guidelines covering security for DFSC.
Plans, formulates, and coordinates Physical Security programs in accordance with Department of Army and CIDC Regulation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.

Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing security duties for multi-discipline security program which includes two or more of the following: Personnel Security (PERSEC), Special Compartmented information (SCI), Information Security (INFOSEC), Communication Security (COMSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), and Operations Security (OPSEC).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
