This position is assigned to Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Legal Assistance Office located in Alameda, CA.
Duties
The incumbent will provide support to the Legal Assistance Office in the processing of documents and by assisting with intake and file management of legal assistance matters involving members of the USCG, military retirees, and other eligible recipients of legal assistance services who require help with Civil Law matters.

Qualifications
You qualify the GS-09 level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-08 level performing duties such as:
Receiving visitors and telephone callers.
Responding to routine inquiries from clients.
Participating in and serving as a witness for the execution of estate planning and other Legal Assistance Products by Coast Guard members and other eligible Legal Assistance clients.
Exercising judgement to determine whether to release or not to release information to clients based upon the sensitivity of the information and the requester's authority to receive such information.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
