This position is located at Fort Hamilton's MWR Community Club. This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits. There is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligations and work scheduling requirements).

Duties

Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash back and stocks service bar. Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff. Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips. Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary. Performs other duties s assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds unassisted, and occasionally objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours to include holiday's, evenings, weekends, and specialist events based on mission needs.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must be 18 years of age, the minimum legal age required to serve alcohol, no later than the day of your possible appointment to this position.

Qualifications

Candidate must: 1. Meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic at the time of appointment. 2. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds. 3. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory. 4. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Skills and Knowledge: Skill in mixing drinks using alcoholic beverages, beer and soda. Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change.
