This position is a Maintenance Worker, WG- 4749-6 working in Jackson, WY for the R6-National Elk Refuge. This is a Permanent Career-Seasonal position. Incumbent will work up to 50 weeks per year, typically January 1 through December 15..

Duties

As a Maintenance Worker your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Perform basic plumbing repairs to sprinkler and/or flood irrigation systems, Off-Road Utility Vehicles, Snowmobiles, Amphibious Vehicles, All- and Terrain vehicles. Operate sprinkler and flood irrigation system in a manner consistent with state water rights. Apply standard measurements, specifications, and instructions when constructing, installing, or repairing items such as irrigation system plumbing and small equipment. Perform water flow regulation, measurements and valve adjustments using standard irrigation instruments and practices. Properly regulate distribution of supplemental feed pellets for big game animals based on equipment type and climatic conditions. Apply safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintains a safe and clean work environment. Keep written records of irrigation system activities and maintenance records on equipment. Operate agricultural tractors, mowers, skid steers, and industrial forklifts to maintain a variety of facilities, feed big game animals and assist with habitat management functions. Operate basic hand and small power tools (e.g. hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, angle grinders, drills, circular saws) to perform maintenance and repairs to facilities and equipment.

Qualifications
