This position is located at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Warrior Zone. Incumbent will oversee the JBLM Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) Program.

Duties
Involved with planning, organizing, and conducting facility recreation programs for the community. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.
Organizes, plans, and evaluates community programs that reflect community interests. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions
Works in executing community wide recreation events, programs and services, including a wide variety of multi-disciplinary events, i.e.: social activities; tournaments, etc. Develops and plans publicity using installation media.
Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must be able to work a schedule that includes working some nights, weekends, and possible holidays.
Qualifications
Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of the individuals or groups.
NOTE: Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
Highly Preferred Criteria:
Applicants who meet both the minimum qualifications and highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first.
1. Prior work experience with the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program or similar (military or civilian) equivalent (i.e. programs that benefit soldiers and/or their families).
