About the Position: The TMDE Support Center-Ft. Eustis is a small Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Support Center team. We provide calibration and/or repair of TMDE for 9000+ Owning Work Centers. We have flexible or adjusted work schedules available. Parking is available on site. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Duties

Prepares test and certification reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections, and uncertainties, over a specified range of circumstances for instruments being calibrated. Assists and advises users in the instrument application, measurement accuracy, and recommended calibration requirements for test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) in support of their mission. Implements, adapts, modifies, and periodically develops technical procedures required by the changing user or equipment requirements. Prepares reports to correct errors in existing procedures and provides technical information used in the decision-making process for the development of documents used for test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) certification. Performs repairs incidental to calibration as required by equipment specifications. Interfaces with user and manufacturer of test equipment as necessary to clarify questionable areas concerning the use and accuracy of instruments or nonstandard TMDE.

Requirements

• MODERATE TO HEAVY LIFTING - This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. Working Conditions - The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
