THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER, Position Description Number D2320000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.
The primary purpose of this position is to inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.
Duties
Determines test method, and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Applies magnetic particle and/or liquid penetrant inspection to detect and interpret the relevancy of flaws in a variety of parts. Uses and maintains tools. Maintains bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, and equipment at prescribed levels. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Maintains records and documents actions. Manually documents actions taken or enters information into an automated system. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer.
- Must hold the grade of E-4 thru E-6.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 2A752 AFSC.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Submit all required documentation.
- For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-4 thru E-6
Compatible Military Assignments: 2A752 AFSC

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws.
2. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment.
3. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority.
4. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
