About the Position: The incumbent works under general supervision of Section, Branch, or Division Chief. The incumbent serves as the Regulatory Program Technician furnishing regulatory assistance and administrative, clerical, and logistical support to the Section or Branch.
Duties
Serve as a Regulatory Program Technician furnishing regulatory assistance and administrative, clerical, and logistical support to the Branch.
Maintain inventory of office and field-related equipment and supplies necessary to create a functional and safe working environment in order to execute the regulatory mission.
Provide technical assistance to the Regulatory Branch by entering data entry to document.
Create and/or assist with travel orders and travel vouchers.
Receive and route incoming and outgoing correspondence such as permit applications, permit instruments and decision documents, enforcement letters, administrative letters, Congressional responses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has been determined by the Official Personnel Management (OPM) to warrant certification of the ability to type 40 words a minute (WPM).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Minimum Qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing administrative duties which include financial management systems, supply management, timekeeping, data processing, project tracking and files management to include managing the conversion of paper records to electronic format.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
