Duties

This Supervisory Investigative Analyst position is located in Headquarter Operations Support, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to: Serves as Supervisory Investigative Analyst providing supervision, technical direction and coordination to investigative analyst and other assigned staff members. Oversees, analyzes, and evaluates all available criminal investigative information collected. Oversees the inspection of copies of mirrored data from seized systems for incriminating information, analyzes evidence, and prepares reports of findings. Establishes procedures for issues that appear difficult to resolve by applying generally accepted criminal investigative methods. The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower pay band (I Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex.

Qualifications

To qualify for the SV-K Pay Band (equivalent to GS-15), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-J or GS-14 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Managing and supervising investigative data analysts in criminal and administrative research, analysis and reporting; and applying those principles to support programs in conjunction with criminal and administrative investigations; 2) Utilizing federal search and seizure laws and regulation that govern evidence in law enforcement investigations; 3)Using investigative methods to provide analytical and technical support using for use in the planning and oversight of investigations; and 4)Communicating in writing, preparation and presentation of high-level briefing to diverse group, up to and including, senior executives in the public and private sector, congressional staffers, as well as senior officials in other law enforcement agencies and organizations. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
