You will serve as a GEOGRAPHER in the Asset Management Business Line of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will perform geospatial analysis and other data assessments using knowledge of geospatial data and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) formats. You will lead discussions at internal and external meetings covering Geographical Information System (GIS) subject matter. You will use Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment to collect field data for utility commodities, environmental business lines, and public works. You will plan and develop new projects with other geospatial analysts to satisfy production schedules. You will integrate geographical information for presentation from a regional or topical viewpoint. You will display geographic information using statistical methods.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting studies to identify and correct management problems; 2) Using Global Positioning System (GPS) to collect spatial data; 3) Applying mathematical and statistical methods to correlate and analyze data for trends, variances and deviations; and 4) Relating Geographic Information systems to imaginary surfaces (i.e. AICUZ, RAICUZ, EAP studies). Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields.

A combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, plus the appropriate experience or additional education.
