You will serve as a Materials Expediter in the Maintenance Repair Overhaul Production Division (MRO PROD DIV).of FRC DET MIDLANT PAX RIVER MD MPN. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will, upon receipt of an item, determine whether the item should be repaired at aircraft maintenance activity or forwarded without delay for Repair and Return or to the Designated Overhaul Point. You will identify unsatisfactory components by part and serial number and compare it against the Individual Component Repair List to determine if the part is within the repair capability of the maintenance activity. You will receive components and identify them by appropriate documentation (ie. Maintenance Action Form, condition tag, log sheet) and assign delivery to appropriate work centers. You will ensure proper maintenance action documentation is entered into databases for components inducted into the repair cycle. You will ensure expeditious delivery and pick up of components from work centers.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Assisting in receiving and screening components processed through the activity for capability of repair; 2) Delivering and retrieving components from designated work centers; 3) Utilizing a computer database to input, retrieve and track components; and 4) Identifying parts and materials using specified computer systems and lists. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
