Duties

You will draft responses, speeches, or other written materials for internal and external audiences. You will compose written speeches for the Commander. You will respond to daily correspondence regarding public affairs matters. You will coordinate event planning and strategic communications for an activity. You will coordinate activities and events with other community relations officers, public affair officials, and local business representatives for outreach efforts. You will plan and execute web-based communication content delivery to support outreach activities.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching and gathering data from sources to reach a target audience; 2) Developing and releasing informational materials, news releases, and internal publications; 3) Effective verbal and written communication skills in relation to public affairs; and 4) Coordinating public affairs activities between an organization and a target audience. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
