You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Federal Health Care Center, Facility Support, Facility Management, Sanitation and Operations of NMRTC GREAT LAKES IL.

Duties

You will serve as the Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) force protection security specialist for anti-terrorism and related physical and operations security program management. You will develop process, review, and revise documents utilizing Automated Data Processing (ADP) systems, and staff standard software relating to AT/FP/Security issues for conformance. You will develop inter-departmental agreements between the Navy, Veterans Administration, and other service branches for AT/FP mutual support during increased force protection conditions, special events and terrorist incidents. You will conduct annual assessments at all facilities under their preview to ensure compliance. You will assist with coordination of AT/FP project data calls from high authority with Naval Station Great Lakes ATO and medical treatment facility representatives for submission. You will work closely with the FHCC?s and others to determine if security measures and electronic security systems provide sufficient security. You will coordinate with the FHCC and Naval Station Great Lakes Emergency Management Program Manager for oversight and coordination of exercise planning.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • Incumbent is required to be on call 24 hours per day.
  • Eligible to attend and graduate from, DoN Anti-Terrorism Officer course (J-830-0015), and maintain eligibility to attend refresher training every three years, as required by DoDI 2000.16.
  • Eligible to attend, and graduate from, the DoN Security Forces Officer course (A-7H-0007).
  • Eligible to attend, and graduate from, the DoN Physical Security Supervisor course (S-830-0001).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing general office and personnel management, particularly as it relates to staff-unique level requirements. Utilizing compute programs such as Microsoft Office suite programs such as Word, Power Point, Excel and Access. Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures dealing with a variety of state-of-the-art security equipment. Interpreting and understanding Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Programs (AT/FP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Interagency Security Committee policy/procedures. Communicating both orally and in writing.
