About the Position: Serves as a Supply Technician fort the Management and Equipment Division G-4, located at U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, located at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence is located in beautiful and historic San Antonio and is within easy commuting distance of desirable neighborhoods and excellent school systems.
Duties
Maintains property accountability files and records to include Hand Receipts of all property durable, expendable and nonexpendable items, and leased equipment
Issues items to using organizations on hand receipts specific to the situation and performs periodic inventories to update hand receipt records
Performs various warehousing tasks and maintains warehouse and surrounding area.
Operates materiel handling equipment and performs minor maintenance when necessary.
Prepares maintenance work requests and suspense file for item of equipment that requires maintenance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 lbs. in the regular performance of duties

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining property accountability files and records; utilizing automated supply systems to manage property and prepare reports; reviewing inventory results to reconcile discrepancies and make adjustments as necessary; utilizing automated systems to produces reports, compose correspondence and coordinate logistical changes; performing warehouse tasks (e.g. inspections, palletizing, stocking, unloading, shipping) to ensure equipment and property are properly stored; issuing hand receipts and performing periodic inventories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
