The primary purpose of this position is to To serve as the principal office assistant performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the commander and their staff. There is a system of formal internal procedures and administrative controls, form coordination among internal and external units, and formal reporting requirements.
Duties
1.Provides a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring personal and executive correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources
2.Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other materials submitted for the Commander's signature.
3.Receives telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening those that can be handled without supervisor's help.
4.Maintains Commander's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings. Independently notes and follows up on commitments made at meetings by staff members.
5. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization

- Polygraph: Incumbent is required to undergo a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
- Travel and relocation expenses WILL NOT BE PAID.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
This is a GG-08 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-08 duties for the "Clerical and Administrative Support" work category are at the "full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-08 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals sufficient to perform non-routine assignments, such as independently noting and following-up commitments made at meetings; locating and summarizing information from files and documents that requires recognizing which information is, or is not, relevant to the problem at hand; Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; Knowledge of the substantive programs of the organization as they relate to administrative and clerical support functions.

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquiries, and nontechnical correspondence.
2. Knowledge of office functions and commitments of supervisor and staff to prepare and review correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, to maintain supervisor's calendar, and to perform other substantive or administrative work of the organization.
3. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
4. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters.
5. Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
1. Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
