Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as experience in planning or assisting in conducting investigations to identify potentially responsible parties (PRPs) at Superfund sites. Experience working independently and working with team members or site attorneys to conduct investigations designed to identify PRPs who may be liable under CERCLA. Experience serving Tribal, vulnerable, or under served communities, and identifying potentially responsible parties at abandoned Uranium mines on Tribal land.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Ability to conduct effective interviews; recognize, explore, and investigate leads.
Knowledge of civil and criminal provisions of environmental protection statutes, in particular, all provisions of statutes and regulations governing the illegal generation, disposal and transportation of pollutants, toxic substances and hazardous materials.
Ability to provide technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to other senior agents, officers, or inspectors on critical operations.
Skill in gathering information from a variety of sources including state, county, and municipal governments and agencies, archives, libraries, historical societies and other sources, followingestablished or independently developed procedures and contacts.
Ability to analyze complex financial data incorporating forensic accounting, accounting principles, economic models and can apply such analysis to individuals, LLCs, Corporations, municipalities, and foreign entities.
Ability working as a senior member of the team as well as independently.
Knowledge of principles and concepts sufficient to coordinate investigative activities with Federal, State, and local law enforcement officials.
Skill in written communication.
Skill in oral communication.
