Duties
In this Mission Support Specialist (Workforce Management) role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security Professionals involved in planning and carrying out a wide variety of mission support, workforce management, administrative research, and program planning activities related to the missions and functions of Mission Readiness Operations.
This position starts at a salary of $82,830.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $107,680.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $107,680.00 (GS-12 Step 10).

Typical duties of this assignment include:
Providing advice involving workforce issues to senior leaders, supervisors, and nonsupervisory staff.
Developing and coordinating hiring plans by obtaining input from program officials.
Submitting and monitoring personnel-related actions related to promotions, reassignments, transfers, retirements, awards, timecards, and leave.
Researching, collecting, and analyzing data to assist with CBP's response to complaints, grievances, and arbitrations.
Serving as a point of contact for the headquarters and sector office staffs on emerging trends affecting CBP's and MRO's business process.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Assisting in calculating financial projections for a project/program;
Providing analytical support on problem definitions, policies and procedures;
Assisting in the inventory of local property;
Providing written and oral reports with conclusions, alternatives, and recommendations on policies, projects, or studies;
Projecting future expenses and new requirements to complete annual budget submission.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
