This position is located in the Division of Professional Services at the Fort Yuma Health Center (FYHC), in Winterhaven, California. This position is customer service-focused and serves as a receptionist and greeter for the FYHC facility. The incumbent will serve as the primary source of contact for patients and visitors to the facility to ensure they are directed to appropriate departments and services in a timely manner and will report directly to the Director of Professional Services.
Duties
Assists with preparing reports related to customer service, safety, and quality indicators, and secures completion of report on time.
May maintain schedules and calendars of facility-wide procedures, events and activities when assigned.
Works with departments facility-wide to determine appropriate points of contact and protocols for visitation, patient check-in, scheduling, to ensure visitors are directed appropriately.
Greets visitors in a personable, courteous, and professional manner, ensuring guests are entering the facility with direction and/or provided the information needed to ensure they find the department they are seeking.
Assists the service unit staff in performing a variety of support functions. This may include performing a wide variety of procedural and substantive clerical administrative work and person-to-person contacts necessary for acceptable and effective management of the facility.
The incumbent acts with independence in performance of duties and performing the more difficult office activities when assigned.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-3: Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of general experience equivalent to at least the GS-2 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled; OR
Education: Completed one (1) year of education above the high school level. Education must been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. Transcripts must be provided.
Combination of education and general experience: Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify for this position.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
