About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), U.S. Military Academy, West Point. Located in the scenic Hudson River valley, only 50 miles from New York City, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year academic institution, a nationally-renowned historic site, and the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. The undergraduates, known as cadets, are commissioned as officers in the US Army upon graduation.

Duties

Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to monitor the performance of the Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services Contract. Randomly inspect completed services, initiates necessary reports and notifies contracting officer and contractor of noted violations and deficiencies, Recommend action to contracting officer such as withholding payment, renegotiation of certain clauses and partial or complete termination. Certify all aspects of contractor's effort. Recommend changes to increase efficiency of support provided customers. Develop inspection techniques and procedures used in monitoring operations under contract to determine efficiency and effectiveness and to determine acceptability/nonacceptability of performance Prepare reports of documented instances of unacceptable performance and failure to comply with contract provisions. Distribute regulatory changes to contractor and determine impact of changes on contractor's performance. Use office automation software/systems such as Microsoft Outlook to communicate with internal and external customers. Resolve contractor performance problems and customer complaints.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) - OR - Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
