THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Space Operations Officer, Position Description Number D2210000 and is part of the CO 137th SWS, National Guard.

Duties

This position is responsible for the effective management of the operations squadron which is comprised of personnel and weapons systems as well as all supporting functions. Its primary purpose is to direct and manage subordinate functional areas and to serve as a technical expert over these functional areas. Program Director provides administrative oversight of all aspects of the operations and support functions for the squadron to ensure mission accomplishment. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Appraises performance of subordinate supervisors and other employees directly supervised and serves as reviewing official on evaluation of non-supervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Reviews developmental needs of subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees and makes decisions on non-routine, costly or controversial training needs and/or requests for unit employees. Develops and recommends program objectives and operations, allocation of resources, changes in program emphasis, and adjustments in resource utilization to correct resource deficiencies, and provides balanced program operations. Manage and provide policy and technical guidance to staff and squadron personnel who perform space operations and all supporting functions to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines involved in carrying out the DoD's mission and mandate. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a current Permanent Dual Status Federal Technician with the Colorado Air National Guard.
• Must hold the grade of O-4 or O-5.
• Compatible Military Assignment: 13SX AFSC.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Submit all required documentation.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications

Military Grades: O-4 or O-5 Compatible Military Assignments: 13SX AFSC 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. 4. If education or a degree is required as part of the "Specialized Experience", you must include transcripts. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. 2. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. 3. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. 4. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

Education

Substitution of Education for the Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets six months Specialized Experience.
