Duties
Conducts studies, analyses, and projects to assist in the performance/development of methods, techniques, procedures, and systems for program development and implementation.
Assists senior specialists on projects requiring application of new procedures, methods and techniques.
Utilizes a variety of software types to develop, enter, revise, sort, calculate, and retrieve data for specialized reports.
Establishes controls and suspense dates and follows up on dates to ensure that required actions and responses are made within deadlines.
Performs periodic inventory of classified files and documents and maintains required accountability records.
Serves as division timekeeper and property custodian.

Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-06 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-07 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-08 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-06, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-05 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience using Microsoft Office products to complete tasks and projects.
For the GS-07, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-06 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as utilizing software to develop, enter, and revise data for reports.
For the GS-08, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as analyzing processes to make recommendations for new, revised, or modified policies and requirements related to the operation of a team or division.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education
Substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at the GS-06 grade level: Six months (9 semester hours) of graduate education that is directly related to the work of the position being filed to meet the specialized experience. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-07 LEVEL: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the position. (One full year of graduate education is the number of hours the school determines to equal one year. If this information is unavailable, 18 semester hours will be used as the standard.) SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-08 LEVEL: One and a half years (27 semester hours) of graduate education directly related to the position being filled. Note: You must submit copies of your official or unofficial transcripts.
