Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Duties
Manages arrangements for conferences/meetings with necessary personnel. This includes, but is not limited to: detailing meetings, briefing director on items of consideration, and follow-up on commitments to ensure timely accomplishment of taskings.
Provide administrative support as assigned; includes but not limited to: purchasing and ensuring adequate supply stock, equipment, and services. Tracks all financial, personnel, supply, and other administrative transactions through the office.
Proficient use of office software to assist in developing narratives, briefing charts, graphics and spreadsheets. Prepares/recommends methods of presenting data for executive briefings, meetings, studies and reports as required.
Compiles data and statistics from a variety of sources for use by the supervisor or analysts in determining the status of studies, trends, potential problems or bottlenecks affecting timely completion of established goals and objectives.
Consolidates, coordinates and prepares correspondence for various communications, including by not limited to emails, inter-office memorandums, and project status updates.
Manages director's calendar and schedules appointments and meetings based on personal knowledge of workload and current issues without prior approval, but coordinates with director.
Provides consultative services to directorates prior to event supporting development and acquisition of requirements.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as:

Specialized experience is defined as: experience providing administrative, technical and office administrative support duties in support of the supervisor and office staff including; coordinating equipment problems; providing support and assistance on personnel, supply, training, and budget reporting and processes; utilizing office automation to create, retrieve, update, manipulate and store electronic data files; and preparing, editing and formatting documents and reports.
Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
Education
GS-06 Six months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when it is directly related to the position being filled
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
