As a Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) Specialist, you will serve as a regionally recognized expert in the CMMS program area. Location of Position: Innovation, Technology and Performance Branch within the Public Buildings Service (PBS), GSA R5 Facilities Management & Services Programs DivisionWe are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Ongoing analysis of the Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) program's functionality and effectiveness, incumbent identifies, analyzes, researches, and resolves compatibility issues and similar problems associated with CMMS products, as well as the most complex and plaguing problems as indicated by users throughout the region. He/she serves as the troubleshooter to craft unique solutions to system problems by ensuring the CMMS program and supporting hardware and software are established and maintained as user-friendly tools for both management and service employees.
Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to assess and improve the Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) program effectiveness. Reviews specific goals and objectives; monitors the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones and evaluates overall program accomplishment and significant contributions in terms of regional or headquarters goals. Provides input and recommendations regarding projected operations, significant trends, recurring problems and similar management level concerns to organization(s) impacted.
Supports and trains end users across the Great Lakes Region. Prepares pilot/project plans and schedules in support of implementation, training, and support. Conducts cross-region technical support and user group briefings, meetings and conferences to exchange information, to keep users and managers informed of new developments, to coordinate work and project activities and service requests and to resolve recurring problems. Identifies personnel and advises program managers of those employees who would benefit most from particular training courses. Prepares and/or presents training in a classroom setting.
Provides user-support, problem resolution, and training on Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and is the contact for the research and resolution of all operating and/or user problems associated with the Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) program and related applications. He/she provides technical direction and advice to users region-wide relating to Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) provide group training, as well as one-on-one as needed to individual users with varied program needs, including regional officials and internal agency personnel.
This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home) within the specified geographic area. If you are selected for this position you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 45 days. At that time, you may be eligible to request to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency’s telework policy

The GS-12 salary range starts at $82,830 per year. Salary will be dependent upon the duty location for which you are selected.
If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or higher in the Federal service.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience is experience applying Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) concepts, principles, and practices concerned with the computerized maintenance management of office buildings, courthouses, and other public buildings. This experience would include serving as a technical resource on a computerized maintenance management system, generating reports to help management better understand the maintenance aspects of buildings, and utilization of a CMMS to maintain equipment inventories, plan maintenance of equipment, and document maintenance history.
