Duties
Performs general office clerical work as assigned, such as travel; time and attendance; mail collection and distribution; answering phones and routing call, etc.
Prepares letters, memos and reports in final form and makes entries into automated systems.
Sells documents, maps, books, records, firewood and Christmas tree cutting permits, Golden Age Passports, Recreation Permits, Forest passes, and other similar permits and materials.
Provides specific directions to customers on filing requirements, including date and eligibility requirements, for various land and mineral uses.
Researches legal documents, e.g., Acts of Congress, Executive Orders, Code of Federal Regulations, and land title records, etc.
Requirements

Qualifications

At the GS-06 Level: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: experience that includes answering internal and external inquiries for complex and detailed information; preparing written correspondence; provide assistance to employees and the general public; researching laws, regulations and policies; and maintaining records and files.
At the GS-07 Level: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: experience that includes answering internal and external inquiries for complex and detailed information; preparing written correspondence with complex subject matter; providing on-the-job training and user assistance to employees and the general public; researching laws, regulations and organizational policies; and maintaining sensitive information, records and files.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work involves sitting and standing, typically in a public room environment. Moderate lifting of plats and public information documents may be required.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office building that requires normal safety precautions.
