The incumbent serves as an analyst in the San Francisco Regional Office of the Division of Insurance and Research, with responsibility for assisting in projects in support of the Corporation’s efforts to identify, monitor, and address existing and emerging aggregate risks to the Corporation’s deposit insurance funds.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To Qualify at the CG-9 level you must meet one of the following:
BY EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the Grade (GS) 7 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing financial analyses in the financial services sector in support of staff projects; presenting results, and assisting in the use and enhancement of financial and statistical models;
OR
BY EDUCATION: You must have a master’s or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.) or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education with a major study in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position;
OR
BY A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: You must have graduate level education as described above, beyond the 1st full year of graduate level education and specialized experience as describe above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
To Qualify at the CG-11 level you must meet one of the following:
BY EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the Grade (GS) 9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing financial analyses in the financial services sector, presenting findings; compiling information for studies and other work products; and investigating topics pertaining to aggregate financial risk.;
OR
BY EDUCATION: Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education with a major study in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position;
OR
BY A COMBINATION of EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have completed graduate level education as described above beyond the 2nd full year of graduate education, and specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
To qualify at the CG-12 level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent at the Grade 11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing mathematical and statistical calculations; analyzing information about developments impacting financial institutions, the financial services industry, or financial markets in order to identify aggregate financial risks; and presenting the findings of such analysis.
