About the Position: This position is for the Information Management Division, located in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Assist customers in implementing new systems. Serve as the point of contact for user trouble calls, incident reports and system change requests for the installation of new hardware or software. Determine if system problems are related to hardware, software, operating systems or user error. Assist users to resolve Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) problems.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position requires to obtain the Comp TIA Network certification within 6 months of employment.
• This position may require situational telework.
• This position may require to work overtime, holidays, weekends and on-call.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing Information Technology (IT) support to customers requiring assistance with trouble shooting computer hardware or software performance issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Networks, Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Computer Networking. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
